NASA is seeking a highly skilled Robotics Developer to design, implement, and support advanced robotic systems for planetary exploration, autonomous spacecraft operations, in‑situ resource utilization, and next‑generation mission prototypes. You will work alongside world‑class engineers and scientists developing robotics technologies that operate in extreme environments—from Martian terrain to deep‑space habitats.

What You'll Do
- Develop robotics software using C++, Python, ROS/ROS2, and NASA mission frameworks.
- Design and implement autonomous navigation, manipulation, and perception algorithms for planetary rovers, robotic arms, and free‑flying spacecraft.
- Integrate sensors including LiDAR, stereo cameras, IMUs, force/torque sensors, and radiation‑tolerant hardware.
- Build simulation environments using Gazebo, RViz, and custom NASA simulation tools to validate mission scenarios.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and mission operations teams to ensure robust hardware–software integration.
- Conduct field testing in analog environments (desert, volcanic terrain, underwater robotics testbeds).
- Support mission readiness reviews, documentation, safety protocols, and flight‑software certification processes.
- Contribute to research publications, mission proposals, and technology development roadmaps.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience developing robotics systems or autonomous platforms.
- Strong proficiency in C++, Python, and Linux development.
- Hands‑on experience with ROS/ROS2, real‑time control, and sensor fusion.
- Knowledge of SLAM, motion planning, and perception algorithms.
- Experience with embedded systems (e.g., STM32, Jetson, radiation‑hardened processors).
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
